Unless the landlord concealed the fact that the house was heated by propane and you had specifically asked, then no. Talk to your landlord about how much he will charge you to break the lease. I'm sure he'll be as reasonable as he can under the circumstances.

I do not know Washington law but try talking to your doctor and see if you can get a doctor's order to break the lease. Try contacting your landlord/tenant association as well. For now get a good quality carbon painter's mask for the time you are at home... the kind for vapors. Good luck... I mean that more than you know.

you shouldve known there was a problem before you signed the lease,for your sake i hope the landlord is good natured,he should know you have a problem and souldnt give you a fight. good luck.

A medical document as current proof may do the trick. It may have to go through some sort of tribunal. I am from australia, so it may be different. I am interested, as I have to get a medical certificate, so the landlords don't rip out my woollen carpet and replace it with a petro-chemical one.
