You're reading Does anyone have any recipes that call for sesame oil, and seeds? I bought it for a tuna recipe (really good by the way) So now I would like to experiment with other things using this flavor. Any suggestions?

ok, ok, sorry it took me so long, this is gonna take some typing...
sesame chicken
1.5 pounds chicken cut into bite size
1/4 c plus 1 tbs soy sauce
2.5 tbs rice vinegar, plus 1 tsp
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 c sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch, plus 2 tsp
2 egg whites, lightly beaten
1/2 cup oil
1 tsp minced garlic
3-6 dried hot pepper pods
1/4 c sesame seeds
green onions, chopped
cooked jasmine rice
Combine sugar, 1/4 cup soy, vinegar, broth, set aside. In separate bowl, combine chicken, 1 tbs soy, and 1 tsp vinegar. Marinate 30 min, then add egg whites and cornstarch. Stir until well blended.
Heat oil med-high. Cook chicken until golden (3-5 min). DRain chicken on paper towels. Cover to keep warm. Discard all but 2 tbs oil. Reduce heat to med. Cook garlic and pepper for 1 min. Add soy sauce mixture

increase heat to med high and cook sauce 15 min (we usually don't wait this long, maybe it would make a difference, don't know, might also add a tbs of the sesame oil at this time, if for no other reason than the heavenly smell, ok, back to the recipe)
STir 2 tsp cornstarch plus water and wisk into sauce. When sauce thickens and bubbles, add chicken and sesame seeds. Top with green onions and serve over rice.
Now, no kidding, this is absolutely wonderful.
For the Thai rice recipe, I searched for it on the internet, there are a few choices. The best I've found requires fish sauce. BE CAREFUL with that stuff, it reeks, seriously, but it makes yummy rice. Just DO NOT put in even a little bit too much.
Have fun, and let me know on here if you like it!
