I feel that the UN is merely a "guidlines" organization. They can suggest the acceptable way to run a country but they can't really do much but ask their members to enforce their rules. Each country observes the ideas but molds them to fit their culture. If a man kicked down my door, waved a "UN badge", and told me i had to give up my STEYR AUG machine gun, i'd laugh hysterically and shoot him in the face.

The U.N. is funded mostly by the U.S. Its actions usually insult the U.S.

I think the U.S. should withdraw from the UN. Free up prime real estate in NYC....much better deal.

Just more example of the UN trying to assert authority over the United States. That anymore is the entire point of the UN existing. I'm very close to beliving that we should just leave the UN and kick them out of our country. Venezula would love to have them!

I DONOT trust a NON American with my safety...

The UN is a great idea... But it just isnt working...

    They cant provide peace in:

    Isreal
    Africa
& so on just watch your local news channel....

I would perfer gun training & discipline to keep myself & my nieghbors safe or local police agencies to help with local peace keeping...

The UN should close down forever & go home!

The UN does not "dictate" to any nation, it is the United NATIONS after all. It can only do what it's members ask it to do. America is a member of, and has large influence in the UN, it is America dictating to itself.

The United Nations represents the expressed will of the nations of the world, a kind of global democracy is the ideal it aspires to.

As for the US constitution, if it transpires that this constitution is not compatible with International Law and the expressed will of the world as represented by the UN, then the constitution has to change or the US will become a pariah state, a rogue state. That's if it aint one already...?

The question is interesting rephrased you know, try this -
"What is your feeling about the United Nations attempting to dictate laws to Iraq, Iran, Syria or North Korea and other countries about WMD and nuke control (bans)? Keeping in mind this violates the sovereign law of Iraq, Iran etc etc etc."

Now, I wouldn't dare even dream of accusing anyone of hypocrisy...

The UN trying to dictate any national legislation of any sort is rubbish because they are an INTERnational organization. Also, as far as I know, they don't have a legislative system. The US should politely decline the advice.

The United nations is good for one thing oh, maybe two.
1.helping desinagrate our wonderful country. and allow drunk or careless drivers to kill with cars. and get away with it because of. Diplomatic immunity.

    2. OUR military never took an oath to then only to the USA. To punish United States Soldiers because they do not want be under the UN's command is like so wrong.

The UN has no interest in this country surviving intact or it's citizens having rights.
of course3 I do not understand how Communist China can have favored nation status but yet Cuba does not because it is communist Double standard (ism) is not good. I would much rather do business with Cuba at least they would be producing top quality produces as opposed to fifth rate quality and poisened produces from China targeting our babies and children.

I'll only worry about it when all the US military is so spread out over the world and the homeland is attacked, because the UN will send in foriegn solders to police the US while our troops are off fighting in foriegn lands.....These troops representing the UN, will then be crossing the line an the US will no longer be in a position to properly defend itself.....There is a very elaborate conspiracy theory that outlines this situation. Sure it's only a conspiracy theory, but given the current situations in the world, it does make you think......

Actually, treaties are considered to be at the same level as the Constitution (per Article VI), but treaty negotiators and Senate staffers are very careful not to include anything that would negate any part of the Constitution.

As for my feelings on what the UN wants... screw them. They have no authority to enact or enforce it.

That's part of the Obams hidden agenda, New World Order, it starts by taking over the
financial institutions of a free society, then moves very quickly after that. We are moving at light speed and all the Bush haters is pushing this train! I'm sure that the French and Russians will be happy to incorporate The USA into their type of Government. Look at the bright side, we will as get Free health care, even though you have to have the governments approval for that flue shot. Oh sorry, the Governments families that get first choice has used the allocation up for your area, come back next year. Next!

The UN must be abolished and their building demolished down to the East River.

    My 2 cents.

The US has become a member of the UN and therefore must adhere to their policies and decisions! If the US no longer wants to do so they can with draw their membership from the General Assembly and the Security Council! The US has ratified many conventions put forth by the UN, the most important being the Geneva Convention, which is now international law recognized by the US and all other members of the UN!

Our elected representatives are the ones at fault. Tragically, many of the elected in both our house & senate fail to keep our UN representatives in check regarding U.S. Constitutional law.
ANY so called " International treaty" that attempts to violate U.S. Constitutionally mandated law should be labeled an act of terrorism/war against the USA. Perpetrators of such illegal U.N.legislation should be listed as "wanted" & a price put on their head(s). Any type of UN legislation deemed unconstitutional by American law & directed at America in general should be listed as a "capital offense".

Ok, first of all, the United Nations is a load of crock, and I would strongly suggest the United States removal from it. This is yet another way of the UN trying to assert power of the United States. My Second Amendment: Right to Bare Arms, is, and always will stay. What is the deal with these Liberals and the United Nations now, trying to rid of the Second Amendment. I'm not sure if they realize, but an article of the United States Constitution is extremely hard, if not near impossible to rid, or change. I would say to the United Nations, and Liberals alike, take your suggestions elsewhere, because the Second Amendment isn't going anywhere.
