+6 to you. I'm surprised by some of the ignorance about the Roman Catholic Church's "finances" and its charitable work. I am not a Catholic. And there are a lot of reasons to fault the RCC or disagree with some of its doctrines and practices. IMO there are many things one can argue are "wrong" with the Church. The charitable practices of the Church and its members are *not* among them.
I agree.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. The RCC cannot be faulted for inattention to charitable work. +6

I just asked another question as to where The Vatican gets its wealth.
i couldn't even begin to tell you that. i do know that the church began accumulating wealth in 313 AD when Constantine legalized Christianity (so they were actually able to settle down and publicly begin churches). i imagine a lot of the wealth comes from donations, but as to why it's coming and not going.... i really don't know. hope you get some good answers to that one.
That is true Constantine is what gives Catholics there bad rep. He forced converters, and stole the Roman empire's who he took over and turned it into the Vatican.

Which doesn't mean it has 600 million euros at its disposal. As I wrote in my answer, most of the monetary "worth" of the Catholic Church is tied up into its ownership of thousands of priceless artworks and artifacts and into its extensive land ownership - most of which it cannot do anything with.
It has properties at its disposal it can sell off if it so wishes.
Very true, but who knows what plans it has for the properties it wishes to keep - perhaps something that will provide more benefit greater down the road (or perhaps not). Keep in mind that the Catholic Church is the largest charity donator in the world - they're still doing quite a bit.
