well in that it is a f-250 it has manual lock in hubs coming out the middle of the front rims you must turn them from unlock to lock and then engauge it with the lever innside

Yes always put the tansmission in neutral then shift the transfer case to 4Hi or 4LO after turning the manual hubs on each wheel.
