You seem to be suffering from the delusion that this sort of brutality is something new and remarkable. It's not.

For as long as people have been around and keeping track, there's been just as much - if not more - violence and cruelty as there is today.
And although it might come as a shock to those of us who were born and raised in the relatively insulated sphere of the Western world, that violence and cruelty is still going on pretty much uninterrupted in a lot of places.

It's not as though this sort of violence isn't something to be upset over, but in the grand scheme of things, it's also nothing remarkable.

To actually answer your question, the world is mainly just coming back to what it's been for much of it's history, and still is across much of its surface: A brutal, unforgiving mosh pit.

I already know what this world is coming to and I am glad that I am not young and I am glad that I have not brought children into it to suffer.

This is just one of so many stories of callous crime, from mild to a "father" grabbing his 4 year old daughter by the feet and swinging her into the wall like a baseball bat as the mother looked on... stoned.

Or teens who "happyslap"... picking a victim to beat the crap out of as they film it on their cellular phones to send to their friends.

    ... and so much more.

Increasing callousness of the populace combined with a lax "justice system" make for a terrifying mix.

As I said I am glad that I am not young and I am glad that I did not bring another generation into this world.

I know what you mean. There were a couple of young men, 21 and 22 in age, who shoved a homeless woman, who was sleeping on a boat ramp, into a river here. She drowned. I'm not trying to make this city look bad as there were many attacks like this across the U.S.

And kids have to wear bullet proof vests now to go to school.

It does make you wonder what life will be like for the next generation of youths.
