Family has bought 2 so far. 05 and 06 pulse versions. I hate them. However, suprisingly, when we had to move a 7x1x1ft wall cabinet, it fit best in our smart. That's after trying it in a vehicle twice the length, and one almost 4ft longer. It opens right up which is a small advantage, plus it's good on diesel.

But it's got horrible power for merging, hills, etc. Maintenance is around $120-190CDN per 8000km, and we've had a lot of problems. Plus, when you take it into the dealer (mercedes) they treat you like crap. No shuttle, no coffee, no nothing. I had to sit for 6hrs one day while they fixed a piece of weather stripping....

I wouldn't buy one myself.

- It is, but I shut it off once while driving when my knee hit the badly placed key. Everything just died while on a highway... Not the best situation.

If it was cheap enough, I might consider one to carry as a spare on a real car.

Hmmm… What versions are available in the United States start at about $35,000. Screw that. Why would anyone pay that much for a pathetic little toy car, when you can buy two or three real cars for that price? I guess there really is a sucker born every minute.
