It's not a single building. It's a huge fortress - or more exactly, a fortified complex. 'Kreml'' means 'fortress', and several cities have got them. The one in Moscow covers an area of about 70 acres. The wall is from 10 to 20 feet thick. It contains three cathedrals, a palace, and various central government offices.

It has not changed in recent years. It is an old, stout, blocky building filled with government offices. A very imposing structure.
