  • to show their respect to them
  • cuz pets have feelings 2
  • I actually love my dogs they have personalties and they dont judge. They love you for who you are, not for other reason. They feel pain, they know when your upset, and they are there to comfort you. I would say my dog knows more about me then my g/f. My dog is my BEST FRIEND!
  • Sometimes when two creatures share a living space together strong bonds are usually formed and in a normal situation these bonds lead to strong friendships and feelings of endearment. this bond is not limited to to human relationships, a bond of such nature can also be created between a pet and its owner.
  • i'm seeing more and more people taking their dogs into stores while they shop! i hate this! people inside, dogs outside. i don't care how cute you think that little rat looking pup is!
  • because they are so huggably soft. :3 wolves are even more huggable
  • Because they love their pets. This used to annoy the hell outta me 'till I started working at the shelter. Ya pull a few kittens out of garberators, watch a few pit bulls being put down because their fight-wounds are just too infected to be helped, and you actually start having a little more respect for people who dote entirely too much on their animals! :)
  • are you suggesting that our cats are not litte furry people!
  • True animal lovers tend to do this very thing. My wife is the type of person that can watch a movie and see 10000 men die on a battlefield, but will wince or cry because A DOG got hit or killed. A prime example is the movie Gladiator (Russel Crowe) When the Roman Legions are fighting the barbarians at the beginning of the movie, people were dying left and right, but all of her attention was on Maximus' German shepard! At home she talks to our dogs and imagines that she understands their every whimper and bark. As for me.. Im all about "Shut the hell up dog! Stop that stupid barking!"
  • They look upon me as their mum. I speak to my chickens on the phone all the time. I'm always ringing their necks. I guess that's why i am known as a mother plucker. hehe
  • I think there are people who have decided they don't really much like other people and have decidedly replaced them with animal friends. My sister's two dogs are like her children. I've never seen an animal so pampered in my life. It kind of makes me sick. Hahaha! I can appreciate affection towards animals but, Hey! Get a room! I love animals but they seem to cost me more than my kids combined. Maybe I've just been unlucky with animals. Here kitty, kitty, kitty...
  • I think that when love expresses itself, ideas of ownership and inferiority melt away. You have a pet for several years, bond with another soul... it is its own intimacy. I know that my dog is not human but I also respect and adore her expressiveness and the bond we share. My only justification for her winter jacket is that she has very short hair and shivers when it gets too cold!!
  • I think that it ultimately comes down to the person's ego. The love of a dog or cat is unconditional; no challenges or surprises. Humans can control that love, whereas loving and being loved another human is much more vulnerable and risky. I wonder, on the other hand, why humans treat other humans like wild animals or pets...did they forget humanity? It makes no sense.
  • why do animals treat us better than most humans? my dog is compassionate, loving, caring and is always there for me.He doesn't expect perfection from me. he doesn't run away from me when I am having a bad day or turn on me just because I am not perfect. Every human in my life judges me, practices no humanity, wants me to be perfect, loves me condionally and is only here for me in the good times. When I really need them, they seem to magically disappear. As far as I am concerned, I could live the rest of my life with just a dog and no humans and my dog says to tell you. that he resents being called an animal. He's a little human
  • Maybe they forgot they were humans?
  • I love my kitty, Bella. She's my baby since my kids are grown..I know she's an animal. She doesn't sit at the table and eat, although she does sleep with us. I love her, can't help it:)
  • Excuse me? Our Miss Tigger is a full-fledged family member..in fact, she runs the joint in a regal, aloof but fair manner. If we tried to tell her she isn't human, she'd have us committed! :) ((hugs))
  • If you mean dressing them up in goofy clothing, then I guess some people just think that's cute. One time we dressed my wife's late chihuahua, Jack, in a baby top and a blue bonnet. When I took the video he started growling and snapping- it was like watching a vicious, cranky little baby with a tail and wearing a frilly little hat. :p
  • Did we forget that humans are also animals? Just because humans may be the animals in control of this world does it mean that we should treat the others species without respect? Other animals have a soul, feelings, and needs as well. Why invite an animal to live with you if you don't intend to make him/her a part of your family?
  • No. I think they remember they are also animals.
  • With dominance comes responsibility.
  • What? You're bed's not this big?
  • i haven't had the heart to tell our year old blonde lab that he's really a pet....although i think he suspects he's at the very least~adopted....lol ~ it's the "paw and no thumb" thing that tipped him off i think!!! hahahaha
  • To accord their pets the best form of love, care and concern.
