  • could be. remember most gauges in Ford are fancy idiot lights. meaning that it will see full oil pressure or none. if the gauge when working doesn't move with the throttle it an all or nothing gauge. This could be bad, you may not have any oil pressure when the engine is cold. Best bet is to just replace the sending unit and see, or connect a gauge to the port and actually measure the oil pressure when cold
  • Replace the sending unit and see if it continues.If you still show 0 oil pressure.remove the sensor and connect a true pressure gauge.If there's still no pressure its likely the oil pump,Fords are notorious for bad oil pumps
