Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a 96 corolla with just an am/fm radio. I have heard of some toyota models having RCA jacks hiding in the back of the radio console. Is this true? are they inputs or outputs? can i hook up a 1/8" -to-RCA cable and use an ipod?

I know its an old question but i'll answer for others that might be looking.

    A> Check your manual
B> Does it have an 'accessory' mode? IE; when you change from AM to FM or CD or TAPE does it have a mode you don't use because there is nothing there? (This is assuming for updated radios too)

With an AM/FM only you can pretty well bet that its a 'no'. Tho I wouldn't doubt that Toyota used the same radio for AM/FM with or without the TAPE or CD functions. So if you were really good at soldering and knew a lot about radios you could probably find a phantom connection.
I replaced the tape deck of a Buick radio once with stereo inputs. I still had to put a tape in to activate the inputs tho.

I doubt it but call the Toyota dealer in your area and talk to parts and service they should be able to help you.
