You're reading HP Pavilion or Sony Vaio for a laptop? Why? I have tons of music, and like to edit photos on my desktop. I also want to be able to run multiple programs with no problems. I'm looking at 3GB Ram and 250GB hard drive for minimum.

Too expensive! My brother recommended Asus as well, but unfortunately I just don't have the money for one. Also, I don't have tax anyway as I live in NH :) but I've already decided to forgo Best Buy/other stores. I'm too picky

Well search on newegg.com -- they usually have some pretty good deals. What's your price range?

I'd say the most I'm willing to spend is about $1,400, but I'm looking for a 3 year warranty after having seen my brother go through countless laptops. It's mostly the warranty that's eating up my budget

Well the first link is to a $1350, very fast laptop... the second link is to a $1099 laptop, slightly slower but still well-equipped for gaming and running multiple processes. Shall I help you search an even lower price range?

$899 to ship it to you, and there's a $100 mail-in rebate... CHA CHING :)

Well, is the Service Net warranty offered on Newegg any good? I'd just hate to spend lots of money on it if they aren't going to be cooperative (not that many companies are) and really help me with any issues that may arise

I've never had any problems with Newegg, and never got their warranty either--however, every single user review of various products I've searched on the site have stated that Newegg's consumer relations are EXCELLENT (or "EGG-CELLENT") so, take that for what it's worth.
