What way do you think is the best way to save money?

    If it is an option at your work, set up an account that is taken right out of your check and deposited there. Make it a resonable amount (not more than you can really do without). Then convince yourself that it's just gone, like your tax deductions.

    Every pay check, set aside a specific perentage or dollar figure and put it into an acount that you cannot easily access. Then, forget about it.

    Don't use credit cards.
    Set it up so that a certain amount is automatically put into savings when you get paid.
    Buy used or secondhand instead of new.

    I guess technically speaking, not spending it is the best way, as a couple have already mentioned, but that's because it's really the only way, that's the defining characteristic of saved money, it's not spent. The best way to go about that I'd say is just using your head......living within your means, trying to find the best deals on all of your purchases, make all bill payments on time to avoid any late charges or interest hikes, if possible try to invest some money....cd's are a decent way to go, they are low risk and the yield is reasonable. 401K is a great plan many employers offer their employees.....it's tax exempt and the employer may match your payroll deductions by 5 to 10 percent. One more suggestion....trying to work in some overtime now and then, if it's allowed, can help tremendously, if not, a second part time job might be a good idea, these are ways to increase profit or income which will give you more to save.
