Why does my car engine vibrate when I push on the accelerator?

    Old School

    The most likely reason is that the engine is misfiring. Misfiring under acceleration is usually due to an ignition system problem (worn spark plugs, failed spark plug wire insulation, worn/dirty distributor cap and rotor, etc.)

    Another problem could be that the rubber engine mounting blocks maybe worn as this can cause vibration too.
