My first "real" job was in 1995. I made $4.45 an hour. At the time it was about $.70 over minimum wage. Sadly, the company now pays its hew hires minimum wage. Ironically, they can't seem to figure out why they can't aquire quality people. Edit: I also worked for free for a while as a Taekwondo Instructor.

When I was 15, I used to wash dishes for an Italian resteraunt right by my house. Minimum wage at the time was like $5.15 and they paid me $4.50 and hour! My dad had to go up there and give em a little talk, so then they started paying me the 5.15.

I ran a karate school for 3 years with no pay. My daughter was student and later an instructor trainee there, she did not pay for anything..rank tests, equipment, tuition or tournament fees. The school owner was terrific and it was the best job I have ever had...I loved it.

Not counting babysitting as a teenager, my first job was in the warehouse of a software company labeling and boxing discs. I was paid $5.00/hour.
