Help answer this question below.

I just opened Paypal and verified my checking account with it, and I want to buy something off Ebay and use Paypal, do I need to add funds to my Paypal account first or it just automatically transfer money from my checking account when I use Paypal?

    You don't need to transfer funds into your PayPal account. Just use it and the funds will be debited from your checking account.

    You can do it without funding paypal, but the recipient won't get the funds for several days.

    The answer is that you don't need to fund your paypal account...but transactions will be quicker if you do.

    Personally, I keep some bux0rz in paypal since they pay a little interest on teh money market acct, and the paypal premier card gives 1.5% cash back on any purchase...which is free money.

    Why not transfer your money from your checking account to Paypal first?

    It would save maybe an overdraft fee.

    Wife sells on Ebay and has a Paypal account.

    If your funds are not in Paypal, your checking account will be debited.

    This procedure can be expensive in overdraft fees.
