  I dled the drivers from the Canadian Toshiba support site, downgraded to 1.69 and I got the panels to work! Atlast!

• I'm a software hunter too, but I didn't know, that some laptops have special HW that require special drivers.

• I had talked to my instructor about your laptop, he said most of the time, updating is fine but some times a system just doesn't need it and the update can do more harm than good because the updates that are out are created can be for two different OS or different countries and what works for one doesn't work for another. just as in your laptop.
  He said In HD item it can be real tricky to update to a person should only update if your having problems.As sometimes the update is worse than what you had as HD is still new. just really glad its fixed.

• Cause laptops have special hardware conf and need special drivers made by manufacturer. Those drivers you get from RadarSync are ment for desktop PC hardware's conf. But you can try.

• this program worked on both PC desktop and laptops as for as RadarSync cares or see they are all the same, the program search for what ever it is able to find. And no it does not always find every thing but about 90% of the time it does a good job.
  I have used it in my tech work on just about any model you can think of with fair good success, main thing I found was the need for extra file I mention in my answer below.

• RadarSync couldn't upgrade my Intel drivers, neither my audio driver.. I asked from Realtek about my audio drivers, and they said, I needed special drivers made by my laptop manufacturer.

  see if those so sites will get you the drivers you need, not special just hard to find sometimes. Good Luck

• I couldn't find the one I needed, and I have XP Pro btw...
  If I only could somehow get the damn drivers out from my recovery preinstallation disks..

• 1.XPdisc in tray>2.Hold down on shift key to stop CD from loading>3.Start>run>sfc /scannow (this is a system file checker)
  during scan you may be asked to retry, just click and let it do its thing, could happen more than once
  should pick up any missing files or drivers

• SFC sure didn't work..
  because, what has Windows system to do, with incompattible Realtek's drivers? I only want to get working drivers for my laptop.. This sucks, Toshiba should add a note to all of its laptops, that they should never update their drivers, cause Toshiba's laptops have moded HW.
  Now there's nothing else to do, but to reinstall the whole crap again..

• Ok I'm not ready to give up,what the model of your laptop, I know you said Toshiba, but give me the name and model off it. what ever it says on front and off back too.You were looking for 2 drivers before so did it git you at least one of them if I understand you and you still need audio, if so get me the information on laptop, I may still be able to help you.

• Let us see if you manage to do the impossible.
  Let me clarify myself, I made a mistake and upgraded my audio drivers, but after that, audio is present, but Realtek HD Audio Panel won't show up neither in system tray, nor in Control Panel.
  I contacted Realtek about that, they gave me a program that analized my HW and after that they told it was not supported, that I should contact Toshiba to get my drivers. But those drivers that are at Toshiba drivers download page also do not work. So, I can't do anything except reinstall the whole shitpack again, since recovery disks come as preinstallation disks only.
  Anyway, I have Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 PSAE1E(-01700EN5) with XP Pro SP3. Good luck doing the impossible G_tech!
