    Incest is illegal because it is unpopular. It is unpopular because human beings instinctively avoid it. We instinctively avoid it because of the problems that inbreeding creates.

    Social norms and customs are ultimately the product of primal impulses filtered through our infinite ability to rationalize almost anything.
