You can make use of a small soft brush, soap and water to clean your gemstone jewelry. Do not use toothpaste or any other harsh cleaner on stones or mounting. Just make a bowl of warm sudsy water with a mild detergent and gently place your jewelry pieces in the mixture. After this procedure, use a soft cloth or a jewelry polish cloth to dry them and bring back the shine.
You can either buy jewelry cleaner at you jewelry store or use soap water and a soft toothbrush. I cleaned my wedding rings with a toothbrush and windex once and it looked great although I am not sure thats the safest way!
When jewelery is getting worn alot, and needs to be cleaned. what can I use on it that wont damage it, but will bring back the shine? It is gold and sterling silever heirloom jewelery.
