What do you think the definition of "Leaverite" should be? It isn't a word you would find in the dictionary. It is a made up word by a child.

Leaverite is a word from the Dictionary. This is the definition of the word from Answers.com:

Leaverite is a slang term used by geologists, minerologists, and amateur rock collectors to identify a specimen in the field that may look interesting but is actually not. Rocks identified as such should be left in situ, as they are not worth the hassle of transportation or deserving of a place in a respectable collection.

The term 'leaverite' derives from the phrase 'leave it right there'.

Well I will be darned. I never knew it was a real word. It is a word that my son used as a young child....That is toooo damn funny. Well then you set me straight on that one suby. I will have to tell him that he don't get the credit for making it up. He was like 3 yrs old when he started saying it about stuff. His dad started using it as well. I had NO idea. Well anyways thanks suby....LOL
