In relaity she was a remarkable woman who spoke about 8 languages and turned her country form being debt ridden into the richest countryb in the ancient world. She was also a shrewd tactician, who else would have thought of using a romans to protect her country from rome?
By doing this she maintained egypts indpendence for as long as she ws on the throne, despite that fact that egypt was the only country around the medittereanean that was not annexed to rome. Roman propoganda which has been sustained throughout the centuries by such peopkle as shakespeare etc etc has a lot to answer for.
