Hmmm, what if it's just harmless teen dating that isn't meant for marriage in the long run anyways?

This is one of those places where the parents have to choose for themselves how much latitude to give their children. I have know some that were very strict about it and I have known some that were just the opposite.

Mileage varies on what "harmless teen dating" means. Kids getting together with friends isn't a big deal. If they're pairing off into couples, that's going to cross the line for most parents. Even if they're not planning on marrying their date, hormones are still there and a little maturity goes a long way in dealing with things appropriately. At our age a couple years isn't significant. With our children a couple years is a significant percentage of their total lifetime...

I agree - when I mean harmless teen dating, I definitely don't mean sex or anything.
The farthest it would go would be kissing, and that's assuming that I'm good enough to make her like me that much, which probably wouldn't happen anyways, haha.
It's also only a half year difference, so for half the year, we're the same age, and for half the year, she's a year older.

All of this being the case, then the only additional advice that I could give you is to try asking her out. If she says yes, then have fun (within limits of course ;-] ). If she tells you that she is not interested, then respect that decision on here part. (This is advice that I would give regardless of the religion of the people involved.)

Yeah, I'm gonna ask tomorrow, I'll let you guys know how it goes.
