Schlep "walking up the hill was such a schlep" "I felt like such a schlep for saying that!" The word almost has that "i just slipped on a banana peel" feel about it.

Sure, "perestroika" ... It has this nice evil sounding ring to it, but instead has a nice boring meaning of "restructuring"... Or at least as close as english can get to what it means I imagine. I always imagined it used as the name of a plan hatched by a nefarious James Bond villian. "When the final phase of Perestroika is complete, the world will kowtow to ME! ... Muhahahahaha!" Of course, questions with subjective answers always produce many results. So I'm sure there are many other words that sound equally "cool"... But none have that sinister ring to them... Also, I see this question in the "Old English" category, and if you are referring to that, then I'd have to go with: Avast! As in: "Avast ye lubbers or I'll keel haul the lot of ya!" Plus it is now used by the name of a popular anti-virus software package!
