Help answer this question below.

I've got a 1990 Ford F-350 Automatic Transmission with 4-wheel drive. My truck goes in reverse, but will not shift into forward gears. Is this problem fixable without purchasing a new transmission? If so, how can I fix it?

I would check out the possibility of a malfunction in the shifting linkage (under by the transmission). Might be a minor problem of wear in the linkage over the years.

I see that at tractor pulls all the time when the truck drops a drive shaft. Check your linkage.
