What are clorazepate tablets?
CLORAZEPATE (Tranxene®) is a benzodiazepine. Benzodiazepines belong to a group of medicines that slow down the central nervous system. Clorazepate relieves anxiety and nervousness, and can help patients cope with alcohol withdrawal. Clorazepate can also help to treat certain types of seizure (convulsive) disorder. Federal law prohibits the transfer of clorazepate to any person other than the patient for whom it was prescribed. Do not share this medicine with anyone else. Generic clorazepate tablets are available.
