Yes, you can set up an LLC with no clients lined up, but it is not the way to go. Do you have a business plan and strategy for getting clients? I started my first company over 10 years ago with now clients and no checking account and with in a week I opened a checking account I opened a checking account what a big check from my first client.
You need to be prepared to go you don't want to get new clients and still have to set- up you business. You need to be ready a feel ready to go that will attract clients to you.
you better have a partner to take some of the fall if you don't make it

Well my thing is that I don't have any real need to get huge or turn a huge profit. Mostly its just to do something to make money as a business but I want to protect myself. My wife makes enough for both of us and I can't get to big as I'm a stay at home dad and about to go back to school. I totally understand why I may need a business plan but right now I just want to see where it goes and wouldn't really have many expenses to deal with that would come from the business so in worst case I end up with a $100 dollar loss. but of course if it gets big I may want a businiess plan.
