  • Verbally? If it verbal OR physical you need to talk with the school principal or guidens counslor. Also talk with your parents about it. It should be happening. ESPECIALLY by a teacher. Don't just ignore it imform someone about it. +5
  • i know that it might be hard to tell on a teacher but i would go to the principal because teachers arent suppose to do that, we live in america for a reason, if the principal doesnt do anything go to the school board.

  • this is a toughy. first of all i'm really sorry for your situation, and i've been in similar situations but i didn't handle them that great. . in all honesty though it would be best to go to a counselor with a paper in hand of what specifically your complaints are. have it sent to admin to be dealt with. and no hun you shouldn't feel bad because this kind of treatment is unprofessional. all the best
  • I'm a teacher and that kind of behavior is completely unacceptable (but not uncommon). A teacher's job is to not allow personal beliefs in the curriculum (which happens all the time) but its especially bad if a teacher starts isolating beliefs of students and attacking them in class. One question: What do you mean by attacking? Is it a simple disagreement of beliefs or does it get pretty personal? Especially if it personal, you should talk to a counselor or principal, but either way, you should let an administrator know. Good job, not backing down and shutting up!
  • Is this a public school or a private school. If it is a public school, then I would recommend two things. First, get a small digital recorder and record the comments of those that have been attacking you, especially those by the teachers. Once you have these recordings, then you start moving up the chain of command as firgie suggested. In the process of this, make it clear that you are considering legal actions if this behavior does not stop. Discrimination such as you describe is not legal in US public schools. (In your profile, you don't indicate how old you are. So, if you are still a minor, then you will probably also want to get your parents involved in this phase.) If going up the chain of command does not end this harassment, then,by all means file a law suit. While these people may not agree with you chosen religion, they do not have the right to discriminate against you because of it.
  • go to the principal, no results, go to the school board, no results, write a letter to the newspaper, and if still no change, get a lawyer it's a shame in this day and age that a teacher would harass a student for being different, just keep your head up and don't let their ignorance deter you from being who you are
  • What do you mean by "attacked", exactly? Someone disagreeing with your opinion is not an attack. Someone challenging your beliefs is not an attack. Someone calling you an evil beast with 3 heads IS an attack. Anything you hold very close to your heart is likely to be a topic on which you are hypersensitive. Before you start claiming you're a victim, it's good to check (a) your sensitivity level about opinions and beliefs and (b) take a good accounting of what you said to them before the "attack" started. I'm not saying they didn't attack you, I don't know. But I know often people confuse challenges for attacks.
