What is sufficient time to wait on closing when buying a house?

    It depends on the area you are in. The mortgage processing is what takes most of the time, after that the time it takes to work up the title and do the survey. If the agent really coordinates things well, and you have an excellent lender with an underwriter in their office, we can close in less than a week. In the St Louis area, we typically close in 30 days to 60 days though. I'm a realtor in St Louis, MO

    It should not take more than two months. You can ask your escrow company, or your realtor to please let you know exactly what is going on and what to expect, when.
