I have a moluccan cockatoo, and recently she has been placing her open wing against the cage, and hiding underneath it. which i though was funny, but she starts to shake when shes doing it now. does anyone know why shes doing this?or how i can stop her?

    It sounds to me as if she is becoming sexually mature and also not having enough to do so is showing signs of stress. Is her cage very large? Does she have plenty of toys and also playtime with you? The wing thing and shaking may be sexual displaying. Maybe time out on a play pen with toys would help her find other things to do. More play time with her would be a good thing. teach her some tricks using clicker training might be fun quality time for the two of you.

    I would try and find a pattern to it, try different things and see if anything causes it to do that. I also suggest that you take it to a vet.

    Do her pupils dialate when she does it, The same way they would when she wants to talk?
