Yes. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Yes. If you read my posts you will also see that I am incredibly "real". That's just me. I call it like I see it and don't mind sharing my experiences here. I may not be everyone's cup of tea but when you think about it, who is? Don't bother sending me any "anti-witness" propaganda because I will not read it.

I am not a Jehova's witness. Good question though. :)
-
I don't even know what they believe, but boy my Dad has fun with them when they come to our door, they go away questining their faith pretty much.
-
I was born catholic and i think im catholic, but right now i dont know what i am.
-
No, I am not, but quite a few of my AB friends are.

No, I'm not.

Yes, I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and I will research any sincere Bible questions that you have. For example: Why does God permit suffering? Does the Bible tell us what God's purpose for the earth is? What does the Bible say about the dead? When we pray for God's Kingdom to Come on earth as it is in heaven, what exactly are we praying for? Do God's views on human behavior change? I will research what the Bible says. Jehovah's Witnesses do not give our opinions on matters, we will show you what the Bible says and then you make your own decision on how you wish to live your life.

I am college educated, I was raised an Episcopalian. I could completedly recite the entire service, the priests part as well as the congregations part. I even taught Sunday School. Don't try to tell me that I can't think for myself. I realized later how much of man's (mankinds) thinking I had been brain washed with once I started to read the Bible. For instance, why would a God of love punish people in a burning hell? I have researched many religions. Can you tell me how many religions were around when the apostles were preaching about Jesus? And how many of those religions were acceptable to God? The answer you should come up with is that there were many many pagan religions, but only one true religion. Did Jesus and God accept the worship of all the religions? If they had pagan parts and pieces was that OK with God? The diciples spread only one religion, based completely on the Holy Bible. Even the Boreans (see Acts) were commended that they examined the Bible to see if what the disciples told them was true. There for if anyone tells you something, check in the Bible to see what the Bible says, and I mean ANY BIBLE. There are many Bibles out there and I will answer your questions using any widely accepted translation. The New World translation is a modern English translation. (No Jesus didn't translate the King James Version himself, nor did He use thees and thous when he spoke. Evidently, you haven't taken whatever Bible translation you have and compared it to The Emphatic Diaglott, giving a word by word translation of the New Testament with the original greek. You accuse me of parroting the Watchtower Organization, but take a look at yourself. Have you researched the New World Translation? Have you researched your own Bible Translation? Or, as I suspect, you are simply parroting someone else you has told you things about Witnesses that you quickly decided were now your views. Don't you think it is odd, that some people are quick to find any little thing wrong with Witnesses? Take a look at the members of other religions, they can do what they want and no one says a thing, but since we try to live morally clean, honest, loving lives, you come after us. We are like a white page, you are quick to point out any black spot. But, other religions are black pages and so no one sees any black spots anymore. Examine all the religions you can find. Find out if they follow Bible principles, do their congregations make changes to live the way the Bible instructs, or do they just pick and choose what they will take from the Bible. No Witnesses are not a cult. We study the Bible regularly, any translation will do. We do not sit in a church and listen to sermons from a paid minister, and then go out and parrot what they say. We listen to Bible based talks, then go home and research what we have heard with a Bible. If you want to have a serious discussion then I am open to it. If you want to mouth off about what you really have no idea about then go back to your knock JW's website and wallow in false teachings. Just ask yourself why Jesus preached to average everyday people everywhere He went. Why He taught his disciples to go from door to door teaching about the Bible? If it was good enough for them, then why isn't it good enough for you? Maybe you should have a JW come to your home and show you from your own copy of the Bible. I know I avoided Witnesses when they came to my house. But one day I listened to what they had to say. When I heard certain things, I said to myself, "yeah right, that's not in the Bible." I got my KJV and looked it up and sure enough they were right. They were right over and over again. And believe me, I did my research. They also were kind and pleasant. I had gotten answers and more Bible knowledge than I had being an Episcopalian for my whole life. I even went to the local priest and asked him why he hadn't been really teaching what the Bible said. He said I would just have to go on faith. I decided I would rather go on Bible knowledge. For instance, Jesus said not to repeat the same prayers over and over Mat 6: 5-7. Yet that is exactly what they did, week in and week out. I resigned from the Episcopal Church. So, who is the mindless one following what others say?

No Im an atheist, but I have found myself recently defending them a lot on AB. For some reason there has been some very nasty questions aimed at the expense of Jehovah witnesses. Some of these questions have been very evil in their nature. (Suggesting Jehovah witness practise things they deifnately dont). I havent noticed the same level of attack on other religions. So no Im not a Jehovah Witness, but I have spent time trying to udnerstnad what makes them different from other Christian religions. They fare well in my opinion.

No! But i would be the first to say that i love Jehovah with all my heart and mind, soul and everything and i really loved to see that there are ones on here to defend Jehovah, but really Jehovah does'nt really have to be defended cas he can do it on his own. I would like to say about those that do think that Jehovah is really like a father and he is your father too. I will tell you a little story a true one. I use to live with my mother a long time ago but thats besides the point. My mom and sister use to hold these meetings every week or so and i was curious about it cas i was hearing something that really intruiged me, sorry about the spelling, any way. I would just go out there to hear them talking while pretending that i was'nt wanting to really hear what they were saying. Well, to make a long story short. I met my x wife and her parents were Jehovah's witness's and they never really forced Jehovah upon me. I believe that he brought me there and that has been 10 yrs ago and i will never trade that day for nothing. So sometimes you really do'nt know what Jehovah will do with your life, he might just change your heart if your willing to let him in.I just want to say Jehovah will love you and with a open heart he will lead you. Just allow him to love you and with an open heart try to be compelled to allow him to.

i too am a jehovah's witness. i wear this like a badge of honor. it has never been easy. there are many challenges but i would never trade my life for anything else. i have been baptized since 1965 at the age of ll. i know i sacrificed a career in entertainment, but i don't care because nothing brings me greater joy and i have never been as proud as when i call myself a "Jehovah's witness". he has been with me through many trials. i feel his hand in everything i do. i am a full time minister (meaning i dedicate at least 70 hours preaching about Jehovah's incoming kingdom). one day very soon now this work we engage in will be all over with. it saddens me to think i will no longer spend time teaching others about Jehovah's marvelous purposes. of course by then we will be in his promised new world. so i guess i can spend my whole day talking about what a magnificent God, father, and most intimate friend he has been to me. for sure everyone will listen to me then. if you don't know him this well, you can. just listen to our message when we come knocking. we will be delighted to answer any question you have. or you can visit our website at www.watchtower.org
