I'm sure they do. Sucks for them more than us because they're lying to themselves. Lying to yourself is alot worse than lying to strangers.

NO. if the answer will get them points, it's because the answer is correct. nobody just "votes" for a wrong answer.

I do think so. I know I may think a very rude answer but will write what I think in a less offensive way as I am not into confrontation (but I do that in real life as well).

Yes it can be quite noticeable with some people . Especially if you have been around a little time and see the same or very similar question come up again.

The majority of my answers on here are sarcastic (for those that read them you may be shocked). People do not seem to respond well to them and I am always getting negatives for them. I am not about to start conforming to the standards that those people would like. If I get a -100 rating on here, I am not going to lose any sleep because I realize that this is just a website. If someone does answer just for the ratings, who really cares?

it's nice to get points because someone likes what you wrote, but i'm not going to beg for them by sucking up in my answers & question, you know what i mean? The points just aren't that important to me, i'd rather give my honest opinion and lose points, rather than gain points on something i don't beleive in.

What annoys me even more is when people gives loads of points to their friends just for showing up. Then, when there are people trying to make a serious contribution, the #1 answer ends up being: "Hey Sara1234 I missed u so much! Aren't you guys glad to c me!?" --- 100 points!!!

Yes, but it does not really accomplish anything for them or the person answering(reading)the answer. I try to be tactful, but that does not always even work, I still get downrated occasionally because I answer the way I feel.. but you shouldn't compromise your feelings or view just because a narrowminded person might downrate your answer because it does not happen to be what they want to hear or fit into their little box. +3 for the question.

I've been reading about points on this site. What are they, why are they important and who issues them? And regarding your question, it sure is dumb of someone to answer a question based on how it will be recieved as opposed to an honest answer. I'm wit choo!
