Theological answer: We never will as humans, because we're sinful.

Movie/ popular answer that I still enjoy: Watch the movie Serenity. There you get to see a world at peace. (Those who have seen the movie will understand what I mean, I'd rather not give away the ending though.

Mankind can never obtain absolute peace. It's in our nature to disagree. It's only with God's help that we will ever achieve it.

The first thing we would have to do is find a standard definition of absolute peace.

Peace has been unattainable because it would require allowing each individual person freedom to create their own experience. Even if we reach a point where people can accept that others will want experiences they would never choose for themselves, there is still the nagging problem that some will want to make choices that necessarily violate others.

So, the only real ways to make peace are to somehow convince everyone to want the same things, or to make peace with chaos itself.

Simple answer? Get rid of a person's ability to feel emotions and strip them of free will. As long as there are these two things, people will always conflict and it will lead to bad things, like war and violence. Many people are often too closed minded to accept the ideas of others.
Another idea might be to brainwash people and turn them into automatons! Or you could force everyone to get along by forcing a world-wide martial law (if you have the resources to back it up)!

Peace can only come from within. External peace or peace on earth is not humanly possible.

"We" can not achieve it, but individuals can. Once we learn that the world gets better immediately.

I really don't think we can, but the desire is honorable and I know we can continue the pursuit until the end.

When we can live equally, without greed, disregarding the capitalist system of self-betterment and disrespect for the lower classes. When we can all have an equal say in what happens in our world. When no one hates another because of religion, race, or culture. Communism, Democracy, and Equality

    Lobotomize everyone at birth.
Otherwise, forget it. We have so much diversity that it would not be possible to get everyone to agree on things. And I like the diversity! We are interesting because of our differences.
