Help answer this question below.
Listen to some upbeat music
phone a close friend who I can share my problems with.
Try and look at the positive aspects of the problem if there are any. Than think of a way to tackle the problem.
After all a problem shared is a problem halved!
A little odd, but my stress reliever when things are building up is to balance the checkbook (it is something concrete I can feel settled about). My husband on the otherhand does the dishes. I think it all comes down to being able to see you accomplished something admist all the things crashing down.
It's ridiculously simplistic, but I think of something really funny and just laugh. Laughing always makes me feel less down. Or I remember that experience has taught me that things crashing down is only temporary. Eventually whatever it is that makes me feel that way will be a distant memory.
Start drinking..lol and put on something loud as i can..lol
I watch TV (I mostly watch comedy shows) that usually gets my mind off things.
Eat a big bowl of vanilla swirl ice cream with hot fudge dribbled all over it and watch a favorite tevoed tv show or movie.
I love listening to music and hanging out with my friends. Hanging out with people helps you forget about what is going on in your life and helps you laugh and enjoy life.
Thanks, hope it helped
I go and play with my Grand Children. It works for me.
I get involved in the ritual of getting ready for a formal meditation session. Lighting candles, incense, getting my cushion arranged just so. Doing the breathing exercises.
Then I just sit in meditation.
The ultimate reality check works wonders.
I usually take time out, go for a walk and sometimes think of those who are much more misfortunate than myself.
listen to My chemical Romance and eat ice cream!
Listen to a song you like, have a good cry, try not to think about what's going on right now - rather think about how good the future is going to be, make a list of everything good in your life (yes, there will be SOMETHING you can think of!), get some alone time in a peaceful place, read a book that doesn't make you feel so bad about YOUR life & remember NO MATTER HOW BAD THINGS SEEM THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SOMEONE WORSE OFF THAN YOURSELF
Hop on the computer and play a good blow 'em up/shoot 'em up video game for a couple of hours (doom 3, quake 4, etc....).
After the adrenaline is running again I feel pretty good.........lol
Get online and drink a pot of coffee or talk on the phone. I also love to sleep
Answer bag is great stress relief
Listen to a positive song i listen'd to a wile ago back in a happy part of my life, i would logically take out my problems then think on how to fix them, know hos cheers me up alot.
i listen to music
Make love to my wife
Assuming he's not the cause of what's crashing down around me, I grab my 3 year old son and kiss his belly and face for the most infectious baby belly laughs and giggles. No one can stay down long while giggling. Need to borrow him?
Escapism and cognitive thought redirection.
The first thing I do is, sit down and think about the situation and worry. Then I get tired of thinking about it, and I may put some real soft praise and worship music on. Also sometime I'll just go take a bath, and then afterward go to sleep, and then I'll feel better. Normally everything always turns out ok. Worrying is not a good think to do, and its not worth it. There is always an answer to our problems.
Take a drive alone (not during rush hour). Or work out on the bowflex and watch scrubs (tv show).
i mastrbate
play a really great song, like "one angry dwarf and 200 solomn faces" by ben folds, that song always helps me feel better when i'm pissed off!
Music and a good drink...and some good friends help...try to have a night out with alot going on so you won't think about whats getting you down...being alone in your room just doesn't help...so go out...have fun...life is to short and to not party right?
I feel like I've answered this question a couple of times before, but anyhow...
I play Len's "Steal My Sunshine" as loud as my radio allows and I dance until I feel stupid or atleast goofy. It works every time.
Either go to sleep or listen to some music.
i take a relaxing bath while smoking pot
Just some suggestions - assuming this is not serious, clinical depression that you can't shake:
1) Let some light into your room.
2) Write down your thoughts and feelings.
3) Make sure that your music is positive.
4) Find someone to talk to about your problems.
5) Ask yourself what it is that you can and cannot do about your situation to make it better.
6) Pray the Serneity Prayer (God grant me the serentity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.).
7) Start dreaming about the future and build on your dreams.
8) Take a nap.
9) Take a ride.
10) Find a way to help someone else.
11) Spend some time on AB.
put everything in perspective and actually find out that people are going through worse times
