Help answer this question below.

Hi, When I hooked up my PS3 with my Sharp 37" LCD (LC-37GB5U) with the regular AV cable, it worked fine. But today when I tried to use the HDMI cable I just bought, I can only hear the sound, but no picture shown on the screen. Does anyone know why?

Without a game or disc in the machine, turn it on and continue to hold the power switch until the menu appears on your TV. This resets the output to the default values. In this mode the system should detect your TV resolution and adjust accordingly.

    Hope this helps.

There may or may not be a switch located on the HDMI cables to switch it from regular to HD... otherwise maybe the cables are in the wrong inputs? Check your PS3 guide in troubleshooting and if you still don't have an answer Call Sony Support and ask!
