Do birth control pills alter your pee's odor? I've been on Ortho-lo for a week and my urine smells weird.

It's possible. However, it's also possible that it's not related to the BC pill. Have you eaten anything out of the ordinary or made any dietary changes? (Dark green veggies tend to give the urine a strange smell and color) I'd try to eliminate any other possibilities first, and if the strange odor persists and really bothers you then talk to your doctor about switching to a different pill.

It possibly could like rain said, but I don't think BC would be the culprit. any type of odor or color change makes me think of a bacterial or Yeast infection, so watch out for pain and changes in your discharge also. Hopefully its only the foods you've been eating!

i have had the same thing.. smelly pee after just starting ortho-lo!! Its awful. It smells worse than asparagus pee... seems as though there are no real answers out there yet as to why.

Im on the same pill and im new to it as well and i have found the same problem. It smells stronger than normal and sometimes is a little bit darker than normal no matter how much water i drink.
