"White Bird" by Its A Beautiful Day, released in 1969 is the first song I remember on its year of release. I am certain there was music I loved before this song but this is the first I remember and I remember it clearly, even the room I was sitting in when I first heard it. That got me started. My love of late 60's to early 70's psychedelic rock continues to this day.

The Beatles "White album". I was introduced to rock in the 6th grade. Wehad just moved to a new neighborhood, so I started the 6th grade at a new school. I was one of two Black students in my class. I had been taught (or I somehow understood) that Black people didn't listen to rock and roll. It so happened that I was invited to a classmate's home where I heard the "White album", and... ...I LOVED it. -

Sunday Bloody Sunday, by U2 in 1983. That was the exact moment music became meaningful to me.
