Get yourself a duster and a tin of furniture polish.
Guitars are made of wood so anything will do, just work the polish in well.
Spray the polish onto the duster to get into the nooks and crannies and rub rub rub till its shiny, then re-string it, and hey presto! Nice shiny new stringed acoustic!!

here are a couple sites for care of your guitar both suggest damp soft cotton or flannel cloth to clean with but no furniture polish as its to heavy of a type of oil for this wood, they talk about wax for cars instead and one other site talked about orange glo for wood which is a natural cleaner & polish, so you might want to check the site out as see what they say.

You're reading How do you clean an acoustic guitar? I have had a black acoustic guitar for 2 years, and have never cleaned it. It has alot of fingerprints on it, so dusting it is not enough. I don't got any fancy polishes or anything. How do I clean it without damaging?
