  • It depends on your location, your experience, and what course you majored in. For a medical technician, they can probably find a job the first day. For an English major, it would take a lot longer. If you have a family business, you can go right into, that is best, or a friend who knows of an opening. These days most job openings are filled by word of mouth, through friends. Edited to answer the actual question asked: I have worked at various jobs ever since I was 13 years old (babysitting, yard work) and it was very easy for me to get my first job. I have an aptitude for math, and I went right into a accounting job.
  • It took me NO TIME AT ALL! I finished uni on Wed, at around 12.30pm. I got a call that same day at around 3.30pm, to start work the next day. A bit freaky but happy it worked out that way. BTW - Im a primary teacher.
