  • You won't die any earlier then you are suppose to just cause of eating oranges. My father used to drink 2 liters or more of Mt. Dew a day(down to 1-2 liters) and he is turing 51 in a couple of months. The PH value of an orange is 2.5-3(around the same as viniger). If you want try sugar oranges which have no acid in them.
  • He really sed dat? He so crazy!.....
  • If you drank a whole lot of an acid or base you could detrimentally alter your body's pH. This would have a lot of effects but mostly it will hurt your kidneys (which will be working like mad to try to get your pH back to normal). You would need to eat a lot more than four oranges a day to cause this though (not sure about the Mt. Dew though). In both cases though, you should be more worried about your teeth. Acid will erode your teeth much faster than sugar.
  • Oranges are great for you, and don't worry, you won't die any earlier =) Your body can deal with small changes in acid levels because it has very effective systems called buffers, which correct your bodies pH (acidity) levels, and bring it back to normal. Nothing you eat or drink can dramatically change your body's pH directly, the only things that do that are problems with your lungs or kidneys, you body's buffer system corrects everything else =) So go nuts, eat all the oranges you want =)
