If a husband donates a kidney to his wife, can he ask for it to be returned or for a large payment years later because she has filed for divorce?

Yes. Your own article reference shows that he can. In this case, I hope he gets it. If the court doesn't award it to him, I hope he goes and takes it himself.

- There were no strings attached. The donation was made under the false pretense of "till death do us part". Suppose I knocked on your door and lied to you and as a result you gave me money or something of value. When you found out you had been swindled you wouldn't want your money back?
