    If you're talking about anal meaning the body area and the tendency to be uptight, then yes. I believe the correlation began withSigmund Freud, who described people's personalities as based on what phase of development they most identified with. There was anal retentive, oral retentive, and others. I wish I could recall more about the philosophy, but if you search Frued you're sure to find some information.
