Actually it is possible, but not in the US. Here we are fighting in Iraq, and right down the road the technology is being offered in Bahrain.

i know it is possible because it happened to one of my friends when her parents wanted to monitor her messages they just came through on both phones but sorry i dont know who to do it
I assume that if one is receiving a call, the other phone cannot call out?
It's not possible, when the connection to the system is in an "open" state even if the provider did allow it for some stupid reason the other phone would be rendered inoperable on the network till the other phone has stopped using it.
It would cause too much confusion. Say if you and your spouse each had a cell phone with the same number and someone decided to call you. There is no way to distinguish between you and your spouse and essentially the call will be sent to whoever answers thier phone first.
Because they have something called an ESN (electronic serial number) and that ESN can only be assigned one number at a time...
