Hi Amy. I've been set free from religion. To you I'm probably an old man, and I am, but all my adult life I have been controlled by the knowledge that God was watching my every move. Every little wrong thing I did was a black mark in his book and on Judgement Day I would have to answer for my life. You see, the God I knew was a terrible God, a vengeful God, a God who said Love me and follow my rules or for ever and ever roast in the fires of hell. I discovered The God Delusion, and other aetheists on the internet and learned that I was not alone in querying belief in God. So, many people set me free, about the same number as imprisoned me in a worthless religion.

I've been set free from my father taking out his anger on me verbally. He still does it sometimes now, but only when he's really really angry. Our family doctor and nanny set me free. They talked to him and advised him on how he should be treating me and such. He was almost like a different person when he walked out of the room.
