  • No, people do
  • They do in a way... As the basic premise behind them is that there are huge pockets of people all over the world that honestly believe that they have cornered the market on the correct way to please and reach God... They each believe that they are right and everyone else is wrong and the punishment for not seeing things their way... is some hell fire and brimstone suffering they will endure for not being like they are. Personally... I don't think God likes Religion either. How can anything like that ever work out in anyone's favor realistically?
  • depends on the religion. they bring out the best and worst in people.
  • tough question. People have been dying because of religion for centuries......so in that respect, yes Religion makes the world worse. Flip side, because of religion, many follows the rules of their religion which makes them kinder people and such. good question 4+
  • Only those that don't live the way the Holy Word teaches. None are pure unless they live as the Holy Word tells in the book of James Chapter 1 V-27...KJV......
  • "One answer would be to point out all the good that has been done in the world by people who took their faith in God seriously. Committed Christians have always tried to put into action the Bible's command to "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Leviticus 19:18). "From the civil rights movement to the establishment of thousands of hospitals and schools across the world, men and women who took God seriously have made an impact for good. When a humanitarian crisis hits anywhere in the world today, Christian organizations are often the first to respond. Where would our society be if all the church-based programs that reach out to those in need suddenly came to an end? "Yes, people have sometimes twisted God's truth and done great evil—but when they have, they were ignoring God's clear teaching. When Peter reacted with violence as Jesus was being arrested, Jesus rebuked him: 'Put your sword back in its place ... for all who draw the sword will die by the sword' (Matthew 26:52). "The real problem, however, is the human heart. Down inside, we are selfish and want only our own way—and this causes conflict. And this is why we need Christ, for only He can change our hearts and replace our selfishness with His love. Have you asked Him to come into your life and change you from within?" ~Billy Graham
  • Pretty much.
  • Yes and no. I say no because it gives people a reason to hang on instead of killing themselves as much as people who don't have a religion.
  • No - the people who follow the religions are responsible for any worsing up that happens. Religions by the themselves don't cause things to be better or worse -the people who follow them are solely responsible for how better or worse off things get.
  • Final net, bottom line, religions have done more harm than good.
  • i think man makes the world worse, the love of power and money, and all mans natural tendencies.... man was bad enough with God and will certainly be worse without HIM.... religions(mans) don't help any more than any other ..but it isn't all that keeps the world getting worse and worse.. rich merchants,governments.... none of these helps, but it can't be helped..it's man..:)justme
  • religions are 80% bad ( really bad) and 20% good, up till this point. if you know even half the shit that goes on because of religions, your head would explode. it's my opinion that religions will in all likelyhood cause the death of the majority of the people on this planet, maybe even every single human being in existance. u better love god a whole lot because u, your parents, your kids, your friends, and everyone you ever knew will prob die for religions ( which is made up bullshit by the way).
  • Nope, fanatic ideas and zealots do.
  • Anyone who believes in a giant man in the sky has a screw loose, so yes religion makes the world worse. I can only see religion being used to control the masses who are to weak to think for themselves so they make up some ridiculous story which has never been proven and is based on faith, it's just one big con, there is no god.
  • No religion makes it better overall.
  • a personal belief in God helps people...but religion has never helped the world....its like any group or people that tries to separate themselves....
  • not true but when i watch killings in the name of religion than i feet that yes it make worst .5
  • false religion has been the cause of much of the misery and suffering worldwide. the bible likens false religion to an immoral harlot that has prostituted herself with the kings of the earth and is about to meet her demise very soon. revelation 18:5-8 says: "for her sins have massed together clear up to heaven, and God has called her acts of injustice to mind. render to her even as she herself rendered, and do to her twice as much, yes, twice the numbr of the things she did; in the cup in which she put a mixture put twice as much of the mixture for her. to the extent that she glorified herself and lived in shameless luxury, to that extent give her torment and mourning. for in her heart she keeps saying, 'i sit a queen, and i am no widow, and i shall never see mourining.' that is why in one day her plagues will come, death and mourning and famine, and she will be completely burned with fire, because Jehovah God, who judged her is strong." in the name of religion people have been massacred throughout human history. the two world wars began in so called "christian" nations. each side claiming and killing because they said they had God on their side. nothing could be further from the truth. the most irreprehensible part of false religion is christendom, because they claim to be christian and yet have been in the forefront of most of the killings since it was established 300 years after Christ died. instead of endearing people to bible teachings christendom has beared the responsability of confusing the masses with its manmade traditions and pagan customs. they have gone out to the world community and defamed God's name, by suppoting the world's efforts in its major armed conflicts. for this reason people have hated not only this organization, but worse they have concluded not to have anything to do with a God that they represent. for more information go to www.watchtower.org

Woods, Jr. http://www.catholiceducation.org/articles/history/world/wh0101.html With love in Christ.
