Why, other than for space, do most AB'ers use s/o instead of partner when used in questions or answers?

    Altho' I usually just say "bee-aach" (in the nice way) or "the ol' ball and chain" or (sarcastically) "soul mate"!

    Both sound gay because it avoids refering to gender but I can see why girlfreind doesn't quite define the commitment too. s/o is short and sweet.

    I would use the word partner if he was a fuck friend for example, but it would appear that significant other does denote the person with who you're having a relationship with, so it's not only proper but convenient, especially if it's a serious question.

    Otherwise, partner could be a whole lot of different things, and God knows how friggin' specific you always gotta be on here.

    That, and s/o-lazy. It's only three strokes, saves precious arguing time. XD
