I have a '03 Chevy Impala. The check engine light is on & it indicates code P0171 System too lean. Any advice on what this is & what to do? Thank you!

vacuum leak at the engine, bad oxygen sensor, exhaust leak, map sensor, contaminated fuel. without a diagnostic scan tool its difficult to diagnose this problem.

We could Almost do that except U didn't tell us which Engine it has, or WHEN it HAPPENS. If it happens while in "Open vs. Closed Loop" it will mean different things. And of course there may be a little difference between a 4cyl. & 8cyl. Engine??? John
