Babies R' US, Baby Gap depicts cute babies. Look at the commercials that have babies-they are cute right? If "having a baby" image was that of a teenager(angst, attitudes..) rather than the wide eyed innocence-would people still want to have babies?

    Probably not.

    That's our evolutionary incentive to breed - babies are cute so we will want to take care of them until they become fairly self-sufficient, angsty teenagers.

    I think if those 'wanna have babies' folks ever had a teenager for awhile they'd change their minds once they realized that *this* is what babies grow into.

    Just like I tell folks when they say "Oh, she/he is *so* cute!" -- he/she will outgrow it.
