  • Inappropriate conduct with a minor is probably the main law that would he would be penalized under aside of other things like aiding in juvinile deliquency, child endangerment, exploitation, among many others that an angry D.A. would use to throw the book at you.
  • yes unlawful sexual activity with a minor.. most states will prosecute this as statutory rape. if you have sex they will add on victim injury points which is about 4 times worse than the statutory rape charge. visit ageofconsent.com to see if your state allows you to have sex.
  • My friend is 14 and she is pregnant by a 19 year old. They didn't do anything to him. They know that he is the dad. So kissing you can't get you into trouble. I'm 15 and my Boyfriend is 18 almost 19 and we've kissed in public and we've never got in trouble! I live in Missouri
  • I kissed a gal when she was 15 and I was 18, I got into trouble for that. They almost called the police on me, but I am very lucky on this. You can still be in trouble for it. Most answers that was submitted wasn't accurate, and based on my experience, yes, you can get into trouble for kissing him. One simple kiss can send him to jail for statuary rape, since he is 20 and you are 17. Most laws have statuary rape limits, which usually sets at 18 years old AND kissing in public as you are 17 and he is 20, police can still arrest him, no matter what. If your parent finds out that he is 20 and you are 17, good luck with the punishment, since he will go to jail and may be required to force him to register as a sex offender. So, becareful on how you ask the question, which the question you asked here can go against him in the court of law.
  • You shouldn't get in trouble. Dont worry about it. I was 14 and dating a 18 year old. We went to the same church. We kissed in front of ppl and nothing happened. AND NO HE SHOULDN'T BE ARRESTED !!
  • Regarding a pevious answer, where the 14 y/o girl is pregnant to a 19 y/o. Why should he be charged automatically? Police and politicians have NO right to be looking into bedrooms unless a complaint is made. Also, why should anyone care if no complaint is made and their both happy about it. This way the 19 y/o can still work and help his new family financially, whereas, if he was in a jail cell, then the tax payer has to folk out, not only for the mum and child but also have to pay to keep the 19 y/o locked up.
  • yeah it really depends on what state your in. but most likely if you were to get caught and someone turned him in...he would get charged with rape. but i mean no one should really give a crap. who hasnt had sex with some one who is a lot older or younger than themself
  • Kissing is not a sexual act, also in most states you are either considered an adult or above the age of consent, for having sex.
  • I must admit, this seems all very strange to me. I'm from Ireland and there are no such laws against kissing. Statuatory rape laws here at least only apply to actual sex, not something so trivial as a kiss (not to say that kissing is trivial - I just mean in the face of the law). But if this is true of the states - well you learn something new every day :D But I wouldn't worry too much. If you're really that concerned, refraining from public displays of affection might be a good idea.
  • As far as I know as long as there are no complaints there shouldn't be any trouble. No one is going to randomly approach you guys on the street and demand to know how old you are. If your parents are ok with it then you should be fine. I really don't understand the issue with this. Albeit the 14year old with the 19yr old is a bit of an age gap, 17 to 20 doesn't seem that bad to me. Amusing that when you are older, a three year age gap is very common but when you're younger it is regarded as terrible. If you're just kissing, and your parents don't hate him, no worries.
