Help answer this question below.

Do you have to go to culinary school to become a chef? I have cooked for 13years and have trained under 4 chefs i have skills of a chef and knowledge but no degree what does that make me.

    You have to have training to be qualified as a chef.


    YO are a really great cook. Go to school it will be worth it.

    get the degree, b/c you will more qualified than someone coming out of college b/c you have work experience, which is valuable.

    I'd say you probably need a degree of some sort to run your own kitchen or get the "good jobs".

    You should look into being a personal chef... They make decent money and the customer may not require a degree.

    You could also publish a cook book.... Lots of things you could do even though you don't have a degree..

    untrained unfortunately thats all that matters in todays world
    hit up a degree and you have alot of your apprenticeship and experience down
