I have a 1994 Ford Escort 1.9, 5 speed. I was driving and the car just died. We have reset the inertia switch, replaced the plugs, fuel filter, & fuel pump. The engine turns over but just wont start. Any other ideas?

We have checked the battery and alternator. We have not checked the starter but it tries to turn over. I thought the starter would just click if it wasn't working???? We have not checked the crank sensor either. I will check ont that next.
